Quarter Castle Publishing announced the paperback and eBook release of the second novel in the Castle Romance Series, Twistmas – The Season for Love by Canadian author Diane Lynn McGyver. A member of the East Hants Writers’ Group and Writers Federation of Nova Scotia, McGyver is also a freelance writer and columnist. Her many articles on topics such as gardening, history, genealogy, horses, homesteading and writing have appeared in thousands of publications since 1998. Her genealogy column Roots to the Past appears in several newspapers in Atlantic Canada.
“This story hits close to home,” said McGyver. “I lived the first twenty-nine years of my life driving and walking those streets in Cole Harbour where it takes place. It’s like going home again and reliving all the things that were special about the community. I still visit several times a year, and I still eat at the Palladium Restaurant and stare up at the Welcome to Cole Harbour – Home of Sydney Crosby sign when I’m stopped at the lights at Caldwell Road and Cole Harbour Road. This story allows me to preserve these thoughts and memories for the long term.”
Twistmas is an adult Christmas romance. It is the perfect story for readers who are looking for a hot romance to melt those winter snow drifts.
Story Summary: Christmas is fast approaching, and Jan is prepared to meet the demands of the crowds in the camera shop she manages. What’s she’s not prepared for is the demand made by society and her family to spread the holiday cheer. It stems from a long line of disappointments in life, including that Christmas when she was eight years old and didn’t receive the special gift she had asked for from Santa even though she was a good girl. Now she doesn’t believe in Santa Claus. The jolly old elf had failed to deliver the one true gift her heart desired. The single mom’s only wish is for Christmas to pass quickly, so life can return to normal, and she can forget about the two men who had disappointed her most: St. Nick and her ex-husband.
Delanie Taylor is regional manager for Dreamland of Toys. Divorced and struggling to control his teenage daughter and overbearing ex-wife, he has no time for romance. When he meets Jan’s daughter at the toy store searching for the perfect gift for her mother, he unknowingly discovers the perfect gift for himself.
